HD1010 or Canon SX1

both do Full HD

canon has better OIS, wider Lens, more manual control

HD1010 has 300fps, mic input, more compact size

i think canon sx1 shoots better photos than hd1010, anyone can tell about the video? Don't know which one to get.

If you can hold of till March, you’d be much better off with either the Sanyo HD2000 or the FH1 over the HD1010. The bit rates are much higher, the stabilizer is improved according to them and I’ll cost only $750 and $640 Canadian respectively.

Also around that time frame, Panasonic will be releasing the HD version of their popular G1 interchangeable lens camera, although the Canadian price will probably go for around $1,300 to $1,500 while the SX1 might be $600 by then.

As far as your question goes, the SX1 will take much better looking photos but there are wobble defects in the video if you pan too fast.
